Written by Spectati and checked against the App Store listing for Smarters Player Lite by WHMCS Smarters, and its developer’s website, in September 2026. Spectati is not affiliated with WHMCS Smarters or IPTV Smarters; feature sets change, so check theirs before you decide.

Free, and nothing sold over the picture.

Smarters Player Lite’s App Store listing says it contains advertising. Spectati shows none on the free tier or with a subscription, and there is no trial clock running behind the free tier. The free tier direct-plays your 4K remuxes with no transcoding, in SDR. HDR and surround sound are what a subscription adds.

  • No ads and no watermark, free or subscribed
  • Up to 2 playlists or servers running at once, free
  • Live TV and the full XMLTV guide on the free tier
  • Parental PIN, age-rating limits and per-provider locks
Spectati Live TV on Apple TV: channel rows with now and next and live progress, with nothing over the picture

Same playlist. A guide you read from the sofa.

Paste the M3U URL, or sign in with the Xtream server, username and password your provider gave you. Add an XMLTV URL and the guide becomes a full-screen timeline with now and next on every channel. Hide, rename and regroup channels, and the changes survive every playlist refresh.

  • M3U, M3U8 and JSON playlists, plus Xtream-compatible providers
  • A full-screen XMLTV timeline with now and next
  • Setup by QR code from your phone on Apple TV
  • Catch-up and your provider’s films and series, with a subscription

Plenty of people who pay for IPTV also run Plex or Jellyfin at home. Spectati signs into both, with Emby in beta, and folds films, shows and live channels into one library with one search and one Continue Watching row.

  • Plex and Jellyfin servers beside your playlists
  • One search across movies, shows, episodes and channels
  • The same film on two servers merged into one entry
  • Direct play of high-bitrate 4K remuxes, no transcoding

Press play before you connect anything.

A new install is not an empty shelf asking for a server address. Four films are already on Home, and they play in seconds with no account, no playlist and no card. It is the real player on your own television, not a demo mode.

  • Four Blender open movies, ready the moment you open the app
  • Singularity is served in HDR10, so you see what full quality buys
  • Nothing to sign up for and nothing that expires
  • Connect Plex, Jellyfin or a playlist whenever you feel like it

Is IPTV Smarters on Apple TV?

The developer’s app is called Smarters Player Lite on the App Store, published by WHMCS Smarters, and it runs on Apple TV, iPhone and iPad. On a Mac it runs as the iPad app on Apple silicon. Several other apps on the store carry "IPTV Smarters" in their names and come from unrelated developers, so check the developer name before you install one.

Can I use my IPTV Smarters login in Spectati?

Yes. The M3U URL, or the Xtream server address, username and password your provider sent for IPTV Smarters, work in Spectati as they are. On Apple TV you can scan a QR code and type them on your phone instead of with the remote. Spectati supplies no channels or playlists itself: you connect the service you already pay for.

Does Spectati show ads?

No, on neither tier. Nothing is shown over the picture and nothing interrupts a channel. The free tier direct-plays your 4K remuxes with no transcoding, in SDR. HDR and surround sound are what a subscription adds.

What does the subscription add?

The free tier covers browsing, live TV, the guide and playback with up to 2 sources running at once. A subscription adds HDR and surround sound, more than 2 sources at once, offline downloads, IPTV catch-up and on-demand, bulk channel tools and program reminders, iCloud sync across your devices, automatic subtitles, SIMKL and Trakt watch-history sync, app icons and accent colors, automatic intro skipping and up to four live channels at once with Multiview. It is one purchase for Apple TV, iPhone, iPad and Mac, and it works with Family Sharing.

Does it work with Plex or Jellyfin too?

Yes. Plex and Jellyfin servers connect beside your playlists, with Emby in beta, and everything shares one library, one search and one Continue Watching row. Smarters Player Lite does not connect to media servers.

Try it on the same login. Keep the one you watch.

Spectati is free on Apple TV, iPhone, iPad and Mac. Press play on a sample film, add your playlist from your phone, and compare the two on your own channels.
